CALL FOR PAPERS Thematic Session Healthcare Supply Chain (HSC) Management

6-8 September, 2007. Brussels, Belgium

More details and up-to-date information at www.ilsconference.org

Scope of the Session
====================

Cost increases, an ageing population, shortages in care providers and limited resources are some of the factors that are putting a lot of strain on the healthcare system. To
face this situation, health organizations are reforming their work methods, investing heavily in new technology and moving toward evidence based medicine. The first phase in
any such reorganization, IT implementation, facilities or process improvement project is to model, the current situation and generate future state models whose outcome can be measured and compared based on key performance indicators. But healthcare processes are complex, involving many actors, entities, resources and information that have to be present at the right time and interact in the right manner to deliver the intended level of services.
This special session is focused on the supply chain management aspect of the healthcare system. The HSC is considered in its broadest whether internally or externally aspect.

This special session is intended to provide a forum for decision makers, researchers, medical practitioners and graduate students to share and exchange their experiences,
discuss original ideas, and report their research on HSC. Contributions emphasizing recent advances and new research directions are strongly encouraged. Contributions are not limited to the hospital area and submissions describing real case studies will be appreciated.
